Domestic Spying & Domestic Partnership

What’s the difference? Oh, the former is illegally allowed, while the latter is campaigned against on a regular basis – both by the man in charge.

This bit of news was slightly overshadowed today: “Northern Ireland, which in 1982 was the last region in the United Kingdom to legalize homosexuality, is now the first to grant gay couples the same legal protections as married heterosexuals. Scotland was to follow on Tuesday, and England and Wales on Wednesday.

The measure is already in force in many other European countries. In the United States, more than a dozen states recognize some form of domestic partnerships or civil unions, but 11 states voted in November to ban gay marriage.”

Why did we leave England again? Someone remind me. Please.

And then: did you hear about Naqsha Bibi? First she was a miracle; now they’re punching holes in her story.

Sorry, checking the news is all I have time for at the moment. Last week of the semester and other jazz. Peace to you during this crazed week of holiday preparations!

p.s. Check out new pics on Flickr.

You’d always be welcome to come home to the motherland ;-)

I hope you are well. Happy Holidays.

I’’ve been posting a series of Christmas/solstice/holiday poems this week. Please some by and say hello, and if you like, spread the word. These are poems I’ve written over the years for my xmas cards. Alas this year will be a fallow year for my home made cards and poem. But, knowing myself, I may suddenly get inspired, like tomorrow night.

    seeya,
